Prof. Li-Tzong Chen, is currently the Chair Professor of Internal Medicine, College of Medicine, Kaohsiung Medical University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He is also the Director and Distinguished Investigator of National Institute of Cancer Research, National Health Research Institutes, Taiwan.

Dr. Chen received MD degree from Kaohsiung Medical University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, in 1982. He completed his gastroenterology training in Kaohsiung Medical ​University Hospital, and medical oncology training in a National Medical Oncology Fellow Program in Academia Sinica, Taiwan, in 1990. As a qualified gastroenterologist and oncologist, Dr. Chen focuses his interests on the development of innovative treatment strategies for prevalent​ gastrointestinal tract cancers in Taiwan through conducting investigtor-inititated clinical trials and trial-related translational research. He is also highly experienced in drug development, and has served as a member of the Steering Committee or Data and Safety Monitoring Committee (DSMC) in several international trials.
